For those of you who don’t know who I am, I am Cobra Commander! For those of you who do know, I have no doubt you are reacting in your usual manner. Preparing to laugh at me or better yet, ignore me completely. Well that sssstops right now!

If my demands are not met by tomorrow afternoon, I will carry out more attacks like today’s! Those demands are as follows: 1 million in unmarked bills and the HM for Fly left in a brown bag on the roof of the Goldenrod Department Store, the immediate evacuation of Cianwood City and the creation of a legal document declaring me sole owner of ssssaid city, the immediate release of any Team Rocket members currently held in prison, and, I’m forgetting something, what was it? Oh yes, to be declared absolute ruler of Johto!

As I sssaid earlier, if these demands are not met, there will be more attacks like the one currently in progress. For those not in Violet City, allow me to explain. As we sssspeak, the Pokémon Academy is being flooded with deadly poison gas! And there’s nothing any of you can do to sssstop it! I’ll remind you again, if my demands are not met within the next 24 hours, then you all can expect more attacks in the weeks and months to come!

[There are two sides to Branch Chief Gorthan.

His Evronian side, also known as his former self, is the one who mastered the power of fear and created fear's very embodiment, Trauma.

That side is usually the dominant one, and today is no exception, really. Upon watching the video, a smile appears on the scientist's mouth, where a long beak used to be before he arrived in Johto.

But then that other side of him kicks right in. His human side. Those children and Pokémon...! Somebody must help! Who will save them?

... Then again, he has no way to tell if Cobra Commander is telling the truth. It could just be an empty threat. So he will make sure of that first.]

Two things, Commander.

One. *Cianwood City*? Why that, of all places?

Two. It is quite a shame that I should content myself with simply hearing your summary account of your no doubt masterful attack. Do you have any footage you can share?

For a number of reasons. Cianwood City is only approachable from one side, making it incredibly easy to defend. The few buildings there can easily be bulldozed and paved over to create an air base for Team Rocket's helicopters. Furthermore, the ocean between the city and the rest of Johto makes it ridiculoussssly simple to spot incoming attacks or spies.

Unfortunately there's no footage. Broadcasting during the attack sssimply wasn't possible. Ssssneaking the tanks into the building took long enough. Rigging a camera would've taken additional time, which could've allowed someone to stumble upon the canisters and alert the authorities.

Very well thought out, Cobra Commander. Your professionalism shows. Along with your vainglory. "Absolute ruler of Johto"... unless you have a tactical explanation for that as well.

That's also sssimple enough. Once I control Johto, I'll use the whole place as a base to launch attacks on Kanto. Then after Kanto falls, I'll use both to attack whatever else is out there!

There are countless other ways for you to enable the Team to do just that. Of course, you *had* to choose the one that placed absolute power right in your hands...

Your modus operandi has a certain appeal, Commander.

Having been here as long as I have, I consider myself fairly knowledgeable about how Team Rocket works. And with how busy our ssssuperiors are, they might not have the time to sssupply the resources for large scale attacks.

[In other words, he's doubtful they would participate in a full assault on Johto. Or place him in command of it.]

At any rate, it is good to see you take matters into your own hands like this. As long as it does not earn you their wrath, I suppose I see no problem with it.

No, they have not. At any rate, I expect they won't be. Not within the 24 time period though.
