I hardly find it farfetched. A sssssmall donation of Pokemon eggs today would prevent the chances of a horrible wasteland tomorrow. What's so farfetched about that?

Additionally, I have no problem with living in a wasteland. It wouldn't be preferred, but it would hardly be the first time I would have to reside in such a place.
