53 | Video/Action for Saffron City

[As if the Pokémon Centers being destroyed yesterday wasn’t enough chaos, Cobra Commander’s decided to launch an attack of his own today. The video feed displays the entrance to the Saffron City Gym, and no, he didn’t ice over someone’s door again. Instead, a Hyper Beam from somewhere behind the camera blasts the doors open. And if the Gear signal wasn’t enough evidence as to the attacker’s identity, Cobra Commander yelling orders probably is.]

Excellent! Now that the entrance is breached, attack! Attack!

[Several of Cobra’s more loyal Pokémon, like Arbok, Abomasnow, and Skarmory can be seen heading through what’s left of the doors before the feed cuts out.]

{OOC: Network responses will be during the attack, and for action, feel free to confront him either inside the Gym where he’s making a mess of things or while he’s trying to make an escape. Just let me know which one!}

What absolutely rotten luck! Not Ice Fang! Retaliate with Night Slash! Ssssand-Viper, don’t let that thing scare you!

[Too late. Scary Face succeeds in reducing its speed, so its attack will be delayed. And Flamethrower does a great job of roasting Ice-Viper. That 4x weakness towards fire is a real pain.]

Get it together! We are not losing thissss battle! A.S.P.! Hyper Beam that Garchomp in the face! Right in the face! Ice-Viper, if you’re still conscious, use Rock Smash on that Typhlosssion! And-

[Because there clearly hasn’t been enough property damage already today, there’s another hole in the side of the Gym now! And Cobra’s going to try and escape that way.]

[ Xion remembers, on instinct, Lightning's hand to hand lessons and quickly sidesteps to her left. Wasting no time and going on momentum, she tries again with a right hook aimed towards Cobra's chest.

Do you really want to get up, Ice-Viper? Axel will have another Flamethrower ready for you! That Night Slash momentarily flinches Xion's Gyarados, but only for a split second before Lancer goes to try and coil his massive, serpentine body around Strato-Viper. Hard scales versus sharp feathers! This, of course, is an attempt to restrict the Skarmory's movements while Lancer's fangs light up with another Ice Fang.

You know what? Bahamut will take that Hyper Beam. TO THE FACE. He's not so fragile and of course... that Arbok will need a bit to recharge from that attack, huh, Cobra? Guess who's gonna get hit with an Outrage!

Tiamat, on the other hand, will be throwing a Dragon Pulse at Sand-Viper. It seems like you're slipping to a little girl, Cobra. ]

If it's important for your face to remain hidden, there are some unique accessories. Like covering only half of your face with a stylish mask. With that it's easy to use normal suits that are always a classic.

A half mask? Hmm. I suppose that could work here. I'll take it under advisement!

What it knows how to do is fail! Slice! Follow me! Target that Alakazam and use Faint Attack!

[Which Cobra will also do. So there’s two Faint Attacks heading that way. Luckily, Pawniard’s level is pretty low.

As for Skarmory, it’s definitely in the red after those attacks.]

Strato-Viper! Use Fly! Get away from that thing and then strike! Arbok! Mud Bomb on that Blaziken! I want that thing taken out of comissssion! Now!

{Is he... using Pokemon attacks? THIS ISN'T NORMAL.}

Protect! Kana, Hydro Pump! I want that Arbok out of the way!

{Kiyone throws up a powerful shield, and her Lapras aims a powerful blast of water at the Arbok. The Camerupt lows angrily and spits a powerful ember at the Pawniard, and Nanao proceeds to use a Hyper Potion on Charmeuse.}

Seems you aren't as useless as I thought you were.

Ow! You brat! Take thissss!

[That really hurt. So he’s going to strike back with Assurance.

As for his Pokémon, that Abomasnow is definitely done for. It collapses in a heap since Cobra’s a bit too busy dealing with Xion to recall it.

He’s a bit preoccupied at the moment, his Pokémon are more or less on their own. Skarmory’s trying to make some wriggle room with Fury Attack. Maybe it can force Gyarados to back off by jabbing its beak into Lancer’s side. Dunsparce doesn’t want another hit like Dragon Pulse so it tunnels under the ground with Dig.

And since thing are not going anywhere close to how he planned, his lower level Pokémon are going to step in to provide support. So there’s a Hypnosis from Beta, the Hypno, headed towards Typhlosion, and a Scary Face from Slice, the Pawniard, aimed at Garchomp. Two can play at this speed reducing game.]

Would you-

[There's a commotion off camera, and the Commander glances that way.]

Excuse me for a moment. Slice! Take care of that!

[There's a thud and a yelp from off camera, followed by a louder thud.]

You'd think a Psssychic would know not to interrupt me! Now where was I? Oh, that's right! Is there anything else you'd recommend?

[Pawniard’s singed by the ember, but able to keep fighting for a little while longer.]

Slice! Retaliate with Rock Ssssmash! Shatter that camel creature! And how dare you call me useless!

[He’s not even sure if that was directed at him, but he’ll claim to be insulted anyway.]

And Sssstrato-Viper! Now!

[Skarmory dives out of the sky towards Charmeuse while Cobra uses a Hyper Potion of his own on Arbok. At the same time, Pawniard dashes forward attempting to strike Camerupt.]

[SIGH. Talking to you is like banging one's head against a brick wall, only slightly less effective.]

I don't care what you meant! That's what I'm going to do! And I do have plenty of better things to do with my life than attacking Gyms! Like conquering Kanto and Johto! And then world! Then going back and finishing conquering my world! But those will have to wait, sssso I'm doing this instead!

... How the hell are those any 'better'? That makes even less sense!

Easy! Conquering the world is a better use of my time than doing thisss! That's how!

Nothing worth acquiring from what I've sssseen. Aside from disguise materials, I haven't seen a need to procure other outfits.

I'm glad. If I may ask, what attacks are you able to perform?

Thief, Fling, Faint Attack, a number of the ssstatus ones. I tried using Night Slash, but apparently that's beyond my current capabilities.

Pfsch, like they'd do anything even if I did.
