53 | Video/Action for Saffron City
[As if the Pokémon Centers being destroyed yesterday wasn’t enough chaos, Cobra Commander’s decided to launch an attack of his own today. The video feed displays the entrance to the Saffron City Gym, and no, he didn’t ice over someone’s door again. Instead, a Hyper Beam from somewhere behind the camera blasts the doors open. And if the Gear signal wasn’t enough evidence as to the attacker’s identity, Cobra Commander yelling orders probably is.]
Excellent! Now that the entrance is breached, attack! Attack!
[Several of Cobra’s more loyal Pokémon, like Arbok, Abomasnow, and Skarmory can be seen heading through what’s left of the doors before the feed cuts out.]

What absolutely rotten luck! Not Ice Fang! Retaliate with Night Slash! Ssssand-Viper, don’t let that thing scare you!
[Too late. Scary Face succeeds in reducing its speed, so its attack will be delayed. And Flamethrower does a great job of roasting Ice-Viper. That 4x weakness towards fire is a real pain.]
Get it together! We are not losing thissss battle! A.S.P.! Hyper Beam that Garchomp in the face! Right in the face! Ice-Viper, if you’re still conscious, use Rock Smash on that Typhlosssion! And-

[ Xion remembers, on instinct, Lightning's hand to hand lessons and quickly sidesteps to her left. Wasting no time and going on momentum, she tries again with a right hook aimed towards Cobra's chest.
Do you really want to get up, Ice-Viper? Axel will have another Flamethrower ready for you! That Night Slash momentarily flinches Xion's Gyarados, but only for a split second before Lancer goes to try and coil his massive, serpentine body around Strato-Viper. Hard scales versus sharp feathers! This, of course, is an attempt to restrict the Skarmory's movements while Lancer's fangs light up with another Ice Fang.
You know what? Bahamut will take that Hyper Beam. TO THE FACE. He's not so fragile and of course... that Arbok will need a bit to recharge from that attack, huh, Cobra? Guess who's gonna get hit with an Outrage!
Tiamat, on the other hand, will be throwing a Dragon Pulse at Sand-Viper. It seems like you're slipping to a little girl, Cobra. ]

[That really hurt. So he’s going to strike back with Assurance.
As for his Pokémon, that Abomasnow is definitely done for. It collapses in a heap since Cobra’s a bit too busy dealing with Xion to recall it.
He’s a bit preoccupied at the moment, his Pokémon are more or less on their own. Skarmory’s trying to make some wriggle room with Fury Attack. Maybe it can force Gyarados to back off by jabbing its beak into Lancer’s side. Dunsparce doesn’t want another hit like Dragon Pulse so it tunnels under the ground with Dig.
And since thing are not going anywhere close to how he planned, his lower level Pokémon are going to step in to provide support. So there’s a Hypnosis from Beta, the Hypno, headed towards Typhlosion, and a Scary Face from Slice, the Pawniard, aimed at Garchomp. Two can play at this speed reducing game.]

Lancer the Gyarados only roars in mighty fury at that beak trying to puncture his tough scales. His fangs now coated with ice, Lancer will now take a powerful bite down on the Skarmory's neck. Sensing the danger of the Dunsparce digging into the ground like that, Tiamat the Hydreigon flies up even higher in the air while charging her Dragon Pulse and hoping that, when it surfaces, it'll be blasted face first by the powerful beam.
Xion's Garchomp growls in defiance, but the Scary Face takes its toll. After pushing aside Cobra's Arbok, Bahamut will now be charging at that Pawniard with a Fire Fang. Axel falls in a heap after being put to sleep, but Bell the Togekiss uses Follow Me to make sure the Pokemon's attention was wrapped purely on her. This distraction might allow Blitz the Scizor to aim a Night Slash at Beta.
Xion watches the battle before turning back to Cobra Commander. ]
If you keep this up, you'll lose! You will be stopped!

Slice! Protect! Protect! Strato-Viper! Fury Attack again! Sand-Viper! Don’t hit that dragon thing! Tunnel under Gyaradossss and see if you can free Strato-Viper!
[Maybe he can free Skarmory and fly away.]

That Fury Attack is really starting to get on Lancer's nerves! The Gyarados' grip tightens even further, unaware of Cobra's command to his Dunsparce due to all the... furious screeching from Strato-Viper, no doubt. Now's your chance, Cobra! It's either this, or Xion, who's going to charge once more, or having more of your team being knocked out! ]

Now Sssand-Viper! Knock that Gyarados off balance! Right now!
[Dunsparce tunnels out of the ground and rams into Gyarados!]

[Strato-Viper’s going to take advantage of the lapse in attention by trying to Steel Wing its way out of Gyarados’ clutches while its off balance.]
And just to make sure you don’t interfere, take thisss!
[Cobra Commander used Quash to try and make Xion and her Pokémon act last.]

[ Oomph, yeah, that Quash is effective, alright. Xion and her whole team are lagging behind! ]

[Normally, what Cobra’s trying to do would be difficult, but between all the defeats in his world, and being a veteran of Team Rocket, the three R’s are pretty easy for him. Those R’s being recalling, retreating, and ranting. He’ll recall his Pokémon, retreat by jumping on Skarmory’s back, and rant now that he’s making his escape.]
Enjoy your victory while you can! Make no missstake, this isn’t over in any way, shape, or form! You haven’t seen the lassst of Cobra Commander! You can be ssssure of that!

[ You really shouldn't waste the opportunity you've just gotten, Cobra, on a villainous monologue. In fact, you should definitely try moving away as Xion's Gyarados is recovering a lot quicker than the others and is already charging a Hyper Beam to blast you and your Skarmory out of the sky. Better fly fast! ]
